The Bainbridge Island Pony Club has been educating young equestrians
since 1962, following the guidelines provided through the national United States Pony Club
The United States Pony Club provides a program of education in riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses. The USPC has a tradition of developing responsibility, moral judgment, leadership and self-confidence in young people. Now the USPC has become a multi-generational resource for equestrians of every age and skill level.
Our unique educational program places equal emphasis on the teaching of riding skills, horse-care fundamentals, and team participation with sportsmanship. Members of the BIPC join a broad network of activities and educational programs that promote the health and safety of both horse and rider--locally, regionally and nationally.
Our club provides excellent mounted and unmounted instruction, along with team camaraderie and leadership opportunities in equestrian activities.
Through our participation in the Northwest Region of Pony Clubs, members may try a variety of equestrian sports and activities that can't be matched anywhere else, including show jumping, dressage, eventing, polo-cross, TET, fox hunting, games and more.
Members work to increase their mastery in their choice of several equestrian disciplines, including Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage, Hunter Jumper and Western, with regularly scheduled certification supported with mounted and unmounted training.
The Badge program provides additional opportunities for members who are learning to ride in a barn with school horses or other limited access to a mount.
In addition to learning and competing with other members from throughout our region at rallies, camps and clinics, those who qualify also may compete at the national level as well.
